Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of cash handling procedures.
Responsibilities: • Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with assistance as needed • Process customer payments accurately and efficiently using cash registers or other payment processing systems • Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accuracy • Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets to customers • Answer customers’ questions regarding products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms • Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner • Maintain cleanliness of checkout area • Follow all company policies and procedures related to cash handling and security measures • Assist with stocking shelves when necessary.
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred • Previous experience working as a Cashier in a retail setting preferred but not required • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Strong math skills with the ability to accurately handle money transactions • Ability to stand for long periods of time
